Ketamine Assisted Therapy (KAT) is a novel, breakthrough approach to awaken the mind and the healing of trauma and depression. KAT combines structured psychotherapy with the medical administration of ketamine. When used in relatively small doses, ketamine is a psychoactive substance that can contribute to altered or ‘non-ordinary’ states of consciousness.

Psilocybin Assisted Psychotherapy (PAP) refers to the professionally guided use of psilocybin in combination with psychotherapy and differs greatly from the recreational use of psychedelics. Psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy involves a rigorous and clinically tested treatment protocol that encompasses careful medical oversight of the treatment session, as well as pre-and post-psychotherapy sessions that help prepare an individual for lasting healing, especially for those experiencing Treatment Resistant Depression and End of Life Distress.

Currently, I am offering Ketamine Assisted Therapy at the ATMA Cena clinic in Vaughan, ON, and Psilocybin Assisted Therapy through the Health Canada Special Access Program at the Remedy Centre in Toronto, ON.

Clinical Trials

There are a number of research studies on psychedelics currently underway around the globe. At CAMH, there are several research projects happening that are investigating the safety and efficacy of psilocybin for treatment-resistant depression (TRD), OCD, acquired brain injury, alcohol use disorder and major depressive disorder. This past year, CAMH and St Mike’s Hospital became clinical trial sites for the COMPASS Pathways Phase 3 study for the treatment of TRD.

If you are interested in exploring psychedelic assisted therapy, you can book a one-hour Psychedelic Consultation where we can explore your intentions for the therapy, possible options and referrals to quality, regulated and safe therapy in North America.
